Overlooking the 18th green with Desmond Castle (c.1200 AD) as a backdrop, The Fairway Bar & Restaurant offers relaxed, flavour-forward dining from sunrise breakfasts to after-dinner cocktails.

CLUB HISTORY
117 Years of Golf in Adare
In the late 1890s, the 4th Earl of Dunraven commissioned Scottish professional Ben Sayers to design a 9 hole course on the estate at Adare. The course opened in 1900.
The Club affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1932, laying the foundations of the modern club. Even as a 9 hole layout, Adare Manor Golf Club achieved notable success, most famously winning the All Ireland Pierce Purcell Shield in 1985. Among the Club’s finest players is Jackie Harrington, capped many times for Ireland and winner of the 1979 Irish Close Championship at Ballybunion.
The current 18 hole course, designed by Eddie Hackett, opened in 1992. The Club celebrated its centenary in 2000 with the installation of a 5,000 year old bog oak sculpture behind the 18th green and a time capsule buried at its base, scheduled to be opened in 2050.
RECOGNITION AND HERITAGE
Adare Manor Golf Club has welcomed elite Irish and international golfers and hosted nationally significant events. The Club’s reputation is built on competitive achievement, a welcoming membership, and a course that rewards strategy and precision.
Jackie Harrington (1936 to 2011)
One of Ireland’s most accomplished amateurs, capped many times for Ireland and winner of the Irish Close Championship in 1979. Additional honours include multiple provincial titles and team successes with Limerick G.C.
