At the weekend Kieran Carroll held his Captains prize with upwards of 280 golfers taking part.Kieran was well deserving of this great support for indeed he has been a great worker for the club for a number of years serving on many various committees with great energy and enthusiasm. In the week leading up to the event the weather was very nasty with Monsoon like rain falling in the area.
But as has been our luck for the last number of years Mother Nature was kind to us with some fine weather being the order of the weekend. A great weekend,s golf was enjoyed by all both on the course and in the famous 19th. later in the evening. The results for the weekend were as follows.

Our J.B.Carr team were in action again recently, playing in East Cork G.C. but unfortunatly defeat was their lot by 3&2 Best of luck to our Fred Daly team under the stewardship of Joe Rouine and Pat O, Brien who are taking part next weekend in the Semi-Final in Dungarvan.Also to our Junior Foursomms team who are in action at the same venue over next weekend also.
Our final Qualifier for our ProAm will be held over the Bank Holiday Monday, so this is your final chance to qualify for our ProAm which will be held on Sunday August 15th.

Now that the excitment of the JP. McManus ProAm is over our thoughts can turn to our own ProAm which will be held on Sunday August 15th. Qualifiers will be held over the coming weeks starting with last Sunday where from Sunday,s singles people will qualify to make teams and play with a Profesional on the day. Also members can play during the week in the form of a team of three in order to qualify. Details can be seen on the Notice Boards or information can be had from any member of the committee.
Congrats to our Junior Captain David Carroll who has made it on to the Munster Boys team to play in the Inter Provinsial competition in Balinrobe Golf Club which will be held from the 20th. to the 22nd of July. He will be in very hot company with the majority of theese golfers playing off 0 to 0.8. David himself is playing off a handicap of 2. Well done to David and also a very well done to our Vice Capt. Joe Rouine who has put all theese young lads through his hands in coaching.

Congrats. to our Fred Daly Cup Team on their recent victory over Castletroy G.C. As a result of their sucess they now qualify for the Munster semi-final on Friday July 30th.in Dungarvan G.C.The panel of players on duty for the day was, David Carroll, Jack Mc. Grath, Aaron Moore, Stephen O' Mahony, Shane Irwin, Greg Lohan, Nijel Mann, John Long, Danny Brennan, Greg Mc.Namara and Bryan O' Riordan. Best of luck to their coach Joe Rouine and the lads in the semi-final.They are very worthy of all our support.
Commiserations to our mixed foursomms team and their manager Margret Hickey who bowd out of the foursomms competition by virtue of a 3/2 defeat to Dromorland at Lehinch recently. Well done to all for getting so far this year and with a bit of luck next year we could go all the way.
Our Juniour cup team was also in action at the weekend in Nenagh but again unfortunatly defeat was our lot by 4/1. Again well done to manager Tom Griffin and his assistant Maurice Noonan and the lads for their efforts.
